2022 has perhaps not been the season McLaren would've been hoping for following a very successful 2021 campaign, with the Woking-based side having certainly returned to the midfield this year. After challenging the frontrunners at the vast majority of the races in 2021, McLaren were very rarely capable of challenging the top three, let alone the top five. The British side were only able to claim one sole podium this season, thanks once again to Lando Norris. Norris claimed his only podium of 2022 back at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, his best result by some margin this season.
