Rossi: Nobody was seeing us above eighth position
Laurent Rossi, Alpine CEO hailed his team for the job they've done over the 2022 Formula 1 season, beating McLaren to fourth in the Constructors' when at some point no one saw them higher than eighth. Alpine didn't have a decent start of their season in 2022, as their Renault power unit – despite being improved – was fragile; just ask Fernando Alonso who suffered from six DNF's over the course of the season, not to mention breaking down in pre-season testing in Barcelona as well as in qualifying in Melbourne when he was fighting for a Q3 spot.
