It has been reported by Sky Sports that George Russell's contract with Mercedes has been extended to the end of 2025, following a 'contractual option' the Brackley-based team had. Russell joined the Silver Arrows from Williams at the start of 2022 after replacing Valtteri Bottas, on what was dubbed a as 'long-term deal'. He shocked the paddock in his maiden Mercedes campaign after defeating team-mate Lewis Hamilton in the Drivers' Championship, something which wasn't expected to happen.
