Ferrari face investigation over rules breach in Monza qualifying

Article To news overview © XPBimages Ferrari drivers Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz are facing an investigation from Formula 1 stewards for failing to follow the race director's notes. Prior to qualifying at Monza, FIA Race Director Niels Wittich informed teams that a maximum lap time of 1:41:000 between the second and first Safety Car lines would be put into place to prevent the dangerous backing up of drivers in the final sector. Throughout practice, some drivers were going slowly on the entry to Alboreto [formerly the Parabolica] to build a gap to cars ahead, set up a team slipstream or prepare the tyres but with the closing speeds involved, Wittich issued the notice on Saturday...
