Hello all,
I'm Shani, and I'm a McLaren supporter from Sydney.
I've been in a few F1 forums before, but they all tend to turn to everyone attacking each other, so I thought I'd start afresh
I've been following F1 since I could barely remember, because my father is a crazy Ferrari fan.
Interesting dinner conversations/arguments followed. (aka attacking each other's teams)
So yeah, that's really about it
Oh dear. You escape the frying pan and straight into the fire. Well, everyone here will probably attack you too, but in the end we'll hug you and give you cookies and.....wait....where the hell am I?
Oh, that's right. Just hang in there, keep posting and we'll all get a long fine. Except for the Quiet One. Everyone hates that guy (don't tell him, though, we like to string him along).
So....welcome!

Welcome to the piranha club, Kate's Dirty Sister. Pull up a chair and stay a while.
Chrcoluk (pronounced 'chur-co-luck', right?) welcome!

Someone check Jellyfishmuffincake3's IP addy and see if it's Eric.

A great many new members.....
...who haven't posted anything of worth so far. If you're going to bother saying 'hi' in this thread, please make an attempt to post something. And don't be concerned that what you post sounds idiotic, biased or unintelligible. That's never stopped us...

Well since Cav comes infruently, you both stopped arguing... Same with Schumikenon...I've made my peace with Cav.
-
Magus Perde does translate into something akin to "Extreme Wizard" - a reference, I like to think, to my coding skills I will, however, let others be the judge of thatWelcome to the Piranha Club. You'll need to be a wizard to survive here.
Actually, that's out-of-date. It's been rather nice here recently since I've stopped arguing with everyone!

Massaikonen? Hm, another hybrid. Nothing p!sses me off more than those hybrids getting in front of me on the highway, taking their pale, vegetarian occupants to whatever liberal rally they're headed for at the pace of a mildly asthmatic snail.
Uh...
...wait one....uh...yes....yes of course! Welcome! Welcome to the forum my Ferrari-loving friend!

Hi.. My name is Kre -
Ahh, yes, well, in America it seems as if we consider our manliest men to be those who tackle other men for a living (American football players), so whoever makes stereotypes doesn't seem to agree with you...-Eric
Ah, if only the world would agree with me. There would be no more problems, universal peace, and unlimited tail....for me.
-
Hmmm...football talk. My views are this: Men should not kick balls, nor hit balls with a stick. Men should drive fast cars.

Welcome to everyone who I didn't welcome....And welcome back to me. I left 9 days ago. I was supposed to leave forever. My blog explains why I'm back (which would be the third time in one day i've promoted my blog...)
-Eric
Well, I'm glad you're back. Again. I miss DC's yearly proclamations about how he is 'fit enough to win the championship this year', so I guess I'll replace that with you're bi-monthly proclamations to leave forever.
Nice blog entry.
Hello to you all! I just registered but I have been reading these forums for quite a while.I am from the land of the great and evil NEN, Finland.
I support my fellow countrymen Kimi, Heikki and Nico, but my favourite driver from them all is the poor old Barrichello who I've supported since his Stewart times. I've never really supported any particular team but BMW is maybe one I like the best.
I hope I find something to say in the various topics in here and that I'd be able to post often. ...Time will tell...
Holy Hell! Couldn't you come up with an shorter, easier to spell name? I'll just call you Hap. Or He-of-the-unspellable-screen-name.

No, that that hurt my fingers to type. I'll just call you Hap.

As for Rossi, can't say much, never watched MotoGP, but he seems quite versatile with bikes, rally, and an F1 test. Would've been cool to have him and Michael as Ferrari drivers this year, he'd have quite a good mentor (like him or not).Rossi is pure magic on a bike. His 'edge' is his ability to overtake by braking later than his opponent and control the bike on exit so it doesn't go wide. He places that bike right on the proper exit line after overtaking and that prevents his opponent from re-taking the position. That skill is down to his extreme courage and a few inherent skills that would serve him well in F1: An extraordinarily smooth throttle input and an intimate knowledge of the traction circle.
-
Welcome. So, I know Rossi is a god on a bike, but what do you think about Pedrosa? If you've got MotoGP comments, a fair number of us also watch it, so post some thoughts!!

For those of you who don't have a copy of 'F1 Onboards' (shame on you if you don't!!), type in 'F1 Onboards' and the whole thing is viewable in 'parts'.
-
It's really that fast, but we rarely get the proper camera angle to see it (it's either a front or back view, which fools the eye and makes motion look slower).
On the '69 footage. Rindt FTW!!
-
That's a great video, thanks! Notice how Ricardo is looking at both his rear-views? Back and forth, back and forth....he must be thinking "WTF??!??"

Actually I just noticed the link you posted and went there. My french is good enough that I can read the site, but I still have no clue what Alain races....
The best I can come up with is a European Hill Climb series. My earlier posts can be ignored because this guy's series is below the Sportscar series I was talking about...still looks like fun, though. Reminds me of taking a Porsche 914 through the mountain roads just above Moreno Valley here in California.
-
This site is by a member of the Sportscar Technical Working Group (comprised of members from the FIA and ACO, as well as manufacturers). It explains what I'm talking about better than I could!!

Took a little research but here are my findings:Driver: Alain Castellana
Norma M20, 794 Lbs without engine, 1,334 lbs total. 3 liter BMW inline 6 cyl@400hp
Course: Gemenos-LaBaume, France 2005 (He was the winner)

Cheers!
Those stats would match it up to the LMP2 class (or Prototype2 as I wrongly called it). HP is a little low for LMP2, but the rules are complex as '05 was a transitional period for the class. Do you know if this was raced under the LMP2 class?
-
speedy racerThis is no F1 but it still looks like fun! wonder what series this is?
I would guess a Prototype2 car from the ALMS. It's probably someplace in Europe, but it sure looks like the San Bernardino mountains here in Southern California!!
-
Also, at Benetton, Brundle was whipping Michael Schumacher on a regular basis in the latter half of '92. A feat worthy of respect considering how fast Schumacher was (is).
-
Came across this on my travels. Should probably be in the Historical section though?http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xopQJ0euF0Q...artin%20Brundle
Go Brundle! God he was (is) a smooth driver. Just listen to how he gently he rolls on and off the throttle while not losing a bit of speed.
-
That Elise race looks like my drive home through traffic!! Great stuff

This will explain why my avatar and my banner are Gilles:
I believe, after he pulled it into the pits, he was yelling for a new tire to be put on there...gotta find the quote, it's great...
