The FIA announced the 19 weekends that it has reserved to build the 2005 Formula 1 calendar from at the World Council Meeting in Paris on Wednesday.

While no events are attached to the dates yet, it leaves the door open for an extra race to be added from this season, most likely the first ever Turkish Grand Prix.

Many of the team owners have expressed concerns at the prospect of an increased calendar, and it is by no means certain that all 19 dates will be used. However, the possibility is there...

The San Marino Grand Prix at Imola has widely been thought of as the race most likely to lose its spot on the World Championship.

The following dates have been blocked for the 2005 FIA Formula One Championship:
