Crash

Schumaker bashing

Recommended Posts

Have just become a member of this forum, though i`ve been a reader for a while.

Annoys me , all the Schuey-ferrari negatives.I thought the sport of F1 was about being the best in the world.

The epitome of motor racing.

Well ferrari have been in the wilderness for a long time.Only one man has been able to bring them out of it-Schumaker.

He brought driving talent, and a lot of new faces to ferrari.

They are the best at the moment, and look like continuing in this vein for some time.

Now every racer out there has done the wrong thing, and schumaker is no exception.

But he seems to get more flak than anyone else.

Yes i`m a scuhey fan, have followed him since he started in f1,carrying inferior cars around tracks much faster than team-mates.

But i like Juan, he`s a breath of fresh air. As another member said in a post, would love to see these two guys in touring cars. What a blast...lol

Finally rubino, what a great guy, with worst luck in the world.

But such a diff attitude this year, reflected in his times, great to see he`s not intimidated by schuey anymore.Imola fastest lap Rubens....kool

Hey there. Frankly I think this site is far more level-headed in the discussions compared to some others I've seen. Some people are actually graceful while conceding a point !   :D

As far as Schumacher goes he's a great driver, and more power to him for the achievements he's had at Ferrari, but he lacks charisma. Though it's not much use to win WDC's it does to a certain extent determine fan followings, maybe even more than victories...

Consider Jean Alsei : one victory, but lot's of fans, perhaps even among the Tifosi he's better liked than MS , he had that certain ...Je ne Sais Quoi...My french classes weren't an entire waste   :D

cheers! GaySchumi,

That is a valid point. The people here are really decent to a dot. I really wonder if there are people like this in this world. One big thumbs up to all of you folks.

But I beg to disagree on one thing. If Schumy didn't have charisma, how does he manage to have such a loyal following and also equally loyal to their opinion and faith Schumy baiters???

As you say, Jean has a large following, simply 'cuz he's viewed as a gentleman driver. May I suggest somebody see Robbie Williams's music video Supreme, funny, but it kinda features Bob Williams and Sir Jackie.

Enjoy the season.

:D

hey crash, welcome aboard.

I dont think anyone who follow's F1 could ever say Schumacher wasnt the best driver of this era, it is just so plainly obvious that he is.

I think Gayschumi was close when he said he lacks charisma, but I find he lack's sportsmanship.

We cant forget 'those incdients' in title deciding races (but I wont go an about them here) and other things annoy me how he tried to make all driver's hold station at Monza last year.

yes welcome crash.

i would have to totally agree with jagman.

he has no sportsmanship and doesn't practise what he preaches.

The only reason i hate schumi and will always hate schumi is because he cheats so god #### much in those races so i have to be a schumi basher as you say.   :P

Ever heard the saying that jealously makes you nasty Jordan_rule?? It's so obvious you are jealous of Schumies success that you've got nothing better to do than bad mouth him. Accept the fact that he is a great driver and does what it takes to win WC's.

I would like to thank you all as GaySchumi does have it right, this board seems to have much more level headed discussions than others who just yell at each other.

your just like the fia and the stewards.

because its schumi cheating its ok just a slap on the wrist ay.

so your saying that its fair for someone to cheat just because they want to win the DWC.

well im sorry but no way i will ever agree with that.

Exactly daz Jordan_rule is jealous, I wonder what would have been J_r's opinion of Schu if he'd gone back to Jordan after Benetton, and dragged them up to be WC driving for them.

EJ would be a lot happier, and would be making more credible statements than : "Takuma is a driver of the calibre of Senna and Schumacher, I'm really surprised none of the bigger teams have tried to approach him". :D

gawd, I nearly died due to the convulsions I had reading that one   :)

Hey daz, I'll admit, I'd be the first to start a round of toasts, if I ever see Schu. Sr's car light up like one of the Marlboro's it sponsors, but that's a sign of how good I consider Schu. to be.   :)

Wacky logic, eh ? I'll admit it, may this be noted in concrete, or in html for that matter   :D , I think Schu. is the most talented, driven driver ;)  out there. And he hasn't done any MAJOR infraction against the rules in the last two years has he ? Probably more, but I'm just gonna play it safe :)

hey GaySchumi,

Heehee, I convulse everytime I type ur name. Fits of laughter. But, ####, u concede too much when u say that Schumy is the most talented driver ever, and has not done any big infarction against the rules, that he is unsporting is a legendary lion of a fact, if i am permitted to use the metaphor. He is good, no doubt, but only as good as the car. Currently I believe that any driver in a Ferrari with a will to push the car to it's physical and electronic limits can drive like Schumy, try giving Hakkinen or Kimi a hand with the Ferrari, I am sure they will come tops on Schumy.

Schumy is good, but he is also perfidous.

And as you said, I too would celebrate on seeing Schumy's car light up like that Marlboro.

:D

But I'd prefer McLaren beating the Ferrari, fair and square.

Anyday.

:D

Oh no sw4me, I didn't say that Schu. was the best "Ever", he's the best out there, right now. "Ever" will always be the Holy Ghost, Ayrton Senna da Silva for you. That man could drive, I still get an adrenaline rush when I think of the opening lap of Donnington '93 :0 . What a driver, 5 victories that year with that MP 4/8 which had customer Ford engines.

The spec. engines were being delivered to a certain team named Benetton which had a certain driver named Schumacher, who spun off in the rain in that race.   ;)  I'll always remember that day   :)

Oh and I agree Schu. has commited some coldly calculated moves, but I not in the past two years.....I don't think so.. ???

ok ok, i agree with you, Signor Senna was a delight to watch, come rain or sun, Schumy was touchy initially in his career, but one thing i can't forget is Hakkinen outpacing the Holy Trinity( Senna, Senna and Senna) during his first official outing on a McLaren. Man, that was unbelieveable.

But, Schumy, I don't think drives on his instincts, as u said he is more of a cold and calculative german driving machine.

I'd any day prefer touch and feel and emotion in the sport.

Yes, the Portuguese GP '93, Mika didn't endear himself to Ayrton   :D

Of course, he was just doing his job, and that was quite a feat, to outqualify the best qualifier of all time(well it's Jim Clark if u look at %age) in ur very first GP shows talent.

yeah, and so does Bob Williams, i've seen quite a bit of old Formula1 and his battles with Sir Jackie were great.

But Hakkinen for his dying minutes qualifying laps, taking pole in say 2 or 3 seconds to spare. My God!, that was great. I won't ever forget '98 and '99 for those qualifying sessions.

Viva Hakkinen.

:D

well i would have never gone for them. and only because i always go for the middle and/or lower teams. and i would have left jordan support if he had gone to us when i was going for them

Oops sorry, didn't mean to Plump Ayrton as the 'best-ever' in this thread. That came out inadvertently....subliminal thoughts, wonder what Sigmund Freud would've thought of that...not much mystery I suppose :D

Oh yes, another boo-boo, thanks nichonsz, I entirely overlooked Hakkinens Lotus period, can't remember how he fared with them, well I guess I'll be searching for that all night :)

I entirely overlooked Hakkinens Lotus period

It's easy to do, they weren't a spectacular team at the time.  Hakkinen scored 13 points for them though 2 in 91, and 11 in 92.  No podiums, FL's or Poles.

Another reason people should not bash Schumacher so often is because he's a nice guy.  Don't beleive me? read on

It's well publicised that MS and Coulthard take chuncks out of each other at every opportunity, but...  In Monaco 1996 David Coulthard was having trouble just before the race.  The visors on his helmet and spare kept on fogging up and McLaren could do nothing to stop this.  Micheal Schumacher had caught wind of this news and just as DC was thinking he might not be able to race MS went to DC and offered his spare to him which allowed him to enter the race.  In the race David Coulthard came second to Olivier Panis.

MS probably had a secret plan that failed, which was to let DC race and then make him look stupid in the race by outracing him. That plan must have backfired :) But we all know that Michael and DC are not the best of friends, I mean look at Belgium 98!!!
