Great! This time it was also a deserved podium, even though Ralf, Montoya, and Kimi retired in front of him. Great way to end the week though for Jaguar!

I'll bet there are a lot of happy 'green' people right now.

Did you notice that the 3 drivers on the podium looked happier than the podium has looked in a long time. Maybe as long ago as Monaco 2001 where the same drivers where standing in the same uniforms as yesterday. Only the 2 reds were the other way round. On top of that Rory Bryne looked happier, and less anxious to escape the Champaigne than a team rep has been since probably EJ 1998.

The drivers seem to find it a big release, but usually the team rep 'trys' but always fails to escape with the dignatries.

Well if I had just finished a 90 minute race in first, I would be spraying everything in sight! Its always fun to spray drinks, even if you are not on a podium!

EI is now saying he hopes for a similar result at Indy, possible or not?

I hope not, de la Rosa yes but not EI. The few races where Jag points have been possible, de la Rosa's lack has been awful. In the other races, with no chance of points he has done better than EI.

De la Rosa does have shocking luck doesn't he. Anyway I was glad to actually see old Eddie on the podium again. Made for a refreshing change. Not so sure that they will be able to repeat at Indy though. I think the infield section at Indy is going to show some of the Jag's weakness's still...

Thats true the infield needs a lot of aerodynamical/mechanical grip, which is why I think Mclaren can do well. PDLR has always had bad luck, while I think that EI has the good kind.

Are you still backing McLaren for a realistic chance for a win Jens, or just a good result.

I think a win could be done with some luck, but not too probable. Maybe Kimi can pull off something nice Hakkinen was fast in 2000 and 2001 at Indy, so maybe it will carry over into this year as well.

Oh well, I suppose. Maybe it was all down to Mika rather than McLaren, because DC didn't really stand out there. Good luck Kimi Raikkonen.

What like at Monza, using Ron-speak;

'At the initial direction change in the Formula One event held in the weekend just prior. A Jaguar package that was being propelled by the Spanish driver Pedro de la Rosa appeared to have slowed his movements down at such a increadable rate, that I was not willing to inflict that kind of punishment on my speed reduction apparatus so early in an event that is overtly pressurising on speed reduction apparatus. So this cause my package to come into contact with the afore mentioned package, in the process of this contact my leading downforce inducing device became divorced from the package. As such I was encouraged by packages moving me closer to the rear of the situation, then I had to come into the package service facility to aquire a new leading downforce inducing device, and for those reasons Kimi Raikkonen was in a better position in the situation than I was.'

Planet F1's diary of Michael Schumacher is quite funny too, but a lot of the comedy is long running so better to read from the first one right through.
