Comparing to Ferrari is a whole different story!

Sure Honda may have more points but that is because the teams have had experience in F1 and their aerodynamics are likely to be better, but I know that Toyota's engine is comparable to BMW and Ferrari.

Returning to the topic, DC has recently opened his mouth again and said that women cant challenge in F1 ever because of 'genetics.'

"As far as I'm concerned, it's a question of genetics,

I beleive the reason women can't challenge in F1 is because of people with attitudes like the one DC has expressed. Not genetics. What is he talking about dolls, my neice hates dolls and loves "Bob the Builder", in fact for her birthday me and my wife have bought her...........A TRACTOR

I think it is more of a "male macho" image thing than anything else that prevents woman from making it into F1. I agree with you that if she can handle the IRL, then it shouldn't be to much of a problem to adjust to F1.

Excuse the spelling but, Juha Klinsmitt won a leg of the Dakar rally a few years back and the commentators didn't seem suprised by it at all, they even sounded like they expected it.

Hi guys , my two cents worth here is that WOMEN could win many races, the problem as I see it is the sponsors !!! like Motor Racing is thought to be a mans sport.. right , so what sponsor would back a real outsider in F1.. dosen't happen for the guys so hell what chance for the gals !!!!

Good point rodders47. F1 is all about $$$'s after all.

Makes me wonder if theres not a huge untapped market out there for a team like Minardi to capitalise on? Think how many companies producing womans products could be enticed into sposoring F1 if there was a woman driver there...

P.S. Nichosnz - excellent example using the Dakar rally. If I remember correctly, she actually won the enitre event a year or two back. Definitely shows that the woman are more than capable when it comes to racing...

It is only a case of how a girl is brought up or what she likes as a kid. The Peugeot WRC team has a woman as the head engineer for the third car at each rally, and that third car has won three rallies this year with Gilles Panizzi. Harri Rovanpera has also scored 18 points in that third car.

Definitely sponsorship is a big part of a woman getting into F1, but if after a test the female driver is fast and looks like she will do well, I do not doubt that tons of shampoo and other such companies would be bidding to give sponsor money!!

daz I wouldn't be suprised If she did win the whole event a year or two after when I refered to. The stage she won she won because of the kind of car she was in, and that she drove that stage better that the drivers in the same kind of car. Not out of luck.

Her "team boss" kept on insisting she drive one of the other of his buggies, he drove one. So even before she won a stage then the event he was confident of her ability to preform over the 10 day event.
