Alex Yoong getting better

I have to say he has improved since the break he had, he was good at Monza and actually faster than several other cars on track at Indy. Though it is almost certain he wont be racing next year with Minardi (not confirmed as it was believed before), he may be moving over to CART or IRL, which I think will be good for him and it will be interesting to see how he does. Good luck to him I say, he is probably my favorite slowest driver on the F1 grid ever, god damn I hated Mazzacane, the Flying Mullet.

Yes he is better, but no by enough to warrent remaining in F1.

I think if it comes down to money for Minardi, or if there is no one else Stoddart can sign then he will take Yoong. CART will be good though, the cars are almost even over there.

He said it would be Minardi testing, Minardi racing, IRL or CART. So he will quite certainly be in a car next season.

Yoong getting better.....maybe but his car is a joke......... i mean if u ask me Mark Webber is doing 1 hella of a job keeping some of the cars behind him, but yoong needs experience.....i mean u cant expect him to do well for atleast another 2 season minimun..............

Experience is the key like Rohan said, Yoong came straight from Formula Asia which is a lot less than F1. CART would give him great experience at a top level, minor formulae such as F3 and F3000 would be just as good, but IRL is ovals, all he will gain from that is strength in his neck muscles for left turns. I hope he makes the CART move, or at least the Minardi test seat because I would like to see a driver who was once the laughing stock move up to 'good driver' status. Change the status quo a bit

Well i think he is getting better, Still not enough to be in F1 but if he does go to cart i can see him imprving a fair bit. That break sure did do him well, wonder what they did too him. i want the treatment they gave him mayube i could be good then

Getting better but a way to go yet.

CART is a good option as they are about 5% slower than F1.

That puts their lap times about where Alex habitually drives.

Don't know if he has the stamina though. Has he ever driven a full race?

He has deinitely made an improvement since Monza. And like the rest of you - I agree 100% that he is still not F1 material yet. Personally I would like to see hime race in Cart next year as I still think that he needs "racing" experience which he just wouldn't gain by testing...

I didn't realise he came from so far down as Jens pointed out. He does have potential, remember the historic Monaco race earlier this year. For those that don't recall, he lead until the last lap, when he had a tech problem, but held on to finish second.

I thought that was the case with quite a few people, summer seems to have that effect on people being out doing something else and just completely forgetting about things like a forum But youre welcome for the email, though my fingers arent (had to write out quite a few of them yesterday! )
