The Spanish government is evaluating entering a part-state funded team in Formula from 2008 onwards.

According to F1 Racing's November issue, Spain is keen to capitalise on the Fernando Alonso-effect after national television viewing figures went stratospheric during the Renault driver's championship-winning season in 2005.

GP2 squad Racing Engineering has been asked to do a feasibility study on a likely 'Team Espana'
