Did anyone happen to see the Free Practice stats, Panis was first and put up a 1.21. And then in Qualifying ended up getting the 7th spot. Is Toyota on the rise....fast? They'll probably do something big next year.

Da Matta span off towards the end of the flying lap, I think it was at the apex thats right before the long 180 turn right before the main straight.

I'm sorry previously I said that Da Matta spun off at the apex before the last corner of the lap, but its really a hairpin, so I don't know what I was talking about.

ALONSO Wins!!!!.......and poor schummi only gets 1 pt. 72 Michael, 71 Montoya, and 70 Kimi; its a close close race.

Mark Webber was great, but his Jaguar didn't help much, oh well at least he was 3rd in qualifying and managed to get some pts.

Well I have been waiting for this for a while, well I suppose not too long he only debuted in 2001. But still, watching the first few laps and the lead he pulled out so quickly. I turned to my mate watching with me when Wilson was the first Jag in and said "Wilson, rather than Webber that will help Alonso even more". Then late in the race when he was 'going slow' he was still one of the fastest drivers on the track.

Alonso is only the fourth Minardi driver to win a race;

Michele Alboreto, won with Tyrrell and Ferrari from 1982-1985 and drove for Minardi in 1994.

Alessandro Nannini won for Benetton in 1989 and drove for Minardi in 1986-87.

Giancarlo Fisichella won with Jordan in 2003 and drove for Minardi in 1996.

Fernando Alonso won with Renault in 2003 and drove for Minardi in 2001.

No Trulli did not win, although he was dominating the race in Austria in 1997, until his engine blew. In a PROST of all things.

Hey, I'm not always right, but I do maintan a high standard. Human error is possible. So if you are unsure about something I submit in that area I encourage you to speak up, and I will investigate the facts, what better way to weed out the (few, lol) errors I do have.

Thank you for the compliment though Rod.
