Well Greg Murphy ( a New Zealander) posted the fastest EVER lap of the track this afternoon in the top ten shoot out of 2.06.87, thats 1.3 seconds faster then the 2nd place and almost 2 seconds faster then the best ever lap time at this circuit.

To give you some idea of how fast these V8 supercars are, they had a "Porsche Carrera" cup race prior to the shoot out and the best lap time of the winning driver would have put him 2 seconds behind the LAST qualifier of the V8 cars !!!!!!

God I would love to see F1 cars race at this track.... It would be so AWESOME!!!!!!!!

Hi Nichos well you can bathe in glory mate as Murphy won the race in a very convincing manner. I think the next race for the V8 supercars is in NZ so will he clinche that as well ????

Start up a fund to bring Bathurst up to F1 standards - that would mean leveling the mountain, losing all the fast turns, and making the layout of the track the shape of a kangaroo.

well in a few weeks time we have the Bathurst 24 hour event for sports touring cars.. Alex Yoong will be one of the drivers ( not sure if thats a good omen or not :-) )

Imagine racing around that mountain in the DARK !!!!!
