I'm with jagman on this one. Sure we dont want to lose F1.com but really they were asking for it.

A guy was smart to register www.gamecube.com (which is the name of the next Nintendo evolution) and he sold it for one #### of a price (in the millions of dollars section). He got off easy though since Nintendo didnt want to go to court over it, just gave the guy a wad of money.

F1.com is a great site and they work every bit as hard as we do here at TotalF1, though they actually do it ful-time and get money from it :) . But then again, you all like us better dont you? :)

There is no reason why they cant continue to run their website under a different URL and give (sell) F1.com and Formula1.com to the rightfull owner.

I agree that Bernie was slow and crazy to think the domains would not be taken, but I guess he is used to trademark law in the real world where it is illegal to infringe on trademarks or what not...

Claire is right on the moral side, but Bernie (as always) will win this one simply because the law is behind him. There was something posted on F1.com about the trials going on here in California! but that was a long time ago in like January.

Anyway, If I were F1.com I would sell it for a big wad of money, and then continue running the site with another URL like www.formulaonenews.com or something.
