Ecclestone wants more races in Asia.

Recommended Posts

 Apparently ernie Ecclestone wants to start cutting down on F1 races in Europe and have more races in the Asian Continent. According to him the sponsors wants this and he also sais that in the Asian Continent there is more money, especially in the future.

I dont agree with this at all, F1 should be for all and not just for the countries that are better financially.

If this is the case - what about india? They have applied to have f1 races, are they a very rich country?

The bottom line is that the sponsors basically pay for F1 and if they want to try to get their brand into untapped markets then that is what has to happen.

I believe India is close to signing a 7 year deal to host an event.

It is a shame though, considering that really the classic circuits of Europe are being shunned in favour of new Hermann Tilke kart tracks on a larger scale. It is a money directed issue, but then again a race in Mexico and maybe a West USA GP would do just as much good. The WRC is heading to Mexico this year and should definitely bring a huge boost for them.

I'd be keen on more races outside europe, thay would be on at a much better hour for me to watch. Instead of mostly being at midnight.
