Atlas F1 charging to read their news now

I dropped by Atlas F1 the other day and when I tried to read the news it said I had to buy a membership to view their content?

How long has this been the case and why would people pay when there are heaps of F1 sites like Total F1 that have free content of the same standard as Atlas?

Atlas started charging about a week ago.  

I think it is a very foolish move by them.  There are so many free F1 sites, with the same quality of reporting, the fans will simply go elsewhere.

In fact I use Daily F1 for some stats that Total does not have.

Iv'e never seen Atlas & I don't suppose I ever will now but they would have to be extremrly good to have people pay for what they can get for free elsewhere.

After all, for news there is even TV & radio.
