Former F1 boss Forti passes away
13 January, 2013 Guido Forti, co-founder of the Forti Corse racing team which competed unsuccessfully in F1 for a couple of years has died aged 72.
Forti co-founded his Forti Corse racing team with businessman Paolo Guerci in the late 1970s, initially running in Italian and European Formula 3 championships.
The team made the step up to Formula 3000 in 1987, but only participated in half of the races. The team continued in F3000 until 1994, with their most succesful stint being in 1991 when Emanuele Naspetti won four races for the team. In the eight years of F3000 the Italian squad won nine races.
