Rosberg under investigation after taking pole

Nico Rosberg's error prevented Lewis Hamilton from trying to beat him to pole Getty Images Enlarge Nico Rosberg is under investigation by the stewards at the Monaco Grand Prix after taking to the escape road at Mirabeau at the end of qualifying and bringing out yellow flags. Rosberg qualified on pole position in Monaco, but only after locking up and running wide at Mirabeau. Mercedes team-mate and rival for pole position, Lewis Hamilton, was behind Rosberg on track and had to slow for the yellows or face a penalty himself, meaning he had to back out of his final attempt.
