Bernie not sorry to see Jaguar Go

Recommended Posts

From: GP2004.com:

Even though the Formula One world was sent into shock on Friday with the confirmation that Ford are withdrawing their Jaguar Racing team from the series, FOM chief Bernie Ecclestone is glad to see the back on them!

The F1 supremo has launched a scathing attack on the engine manufacturer, claiming that it was their own bad management that led to their demise. Since purchasing the team from Jackie Stewart, who already had a win to the squad’s credit, there have been constant changes at the top and upheavals through the rest of the staff.

Ecclestone is very disappointed that they have left Minardi and Jordan in the lurch in regard to engine supply, and has even gone as far to accuse them of ripping off the two small teams and he is definitely not sorry to see them leave the sport.

“It’s down to bad management and shows that manufacturers just use the sport if and when they want to,” Ecclestone fumed. “It appears they wanted to run a team and get all the publicity but not pay any money for it. I’d like to see them try to do a deal where they get all their global advertising for free. They have ripped off Jordan and Minardi with the price of their engines. They cost more than those Ferrari sell to Sauber but are not capable of running at the front. I’m not sorry to see them go. They made their name in SportsCar racing and that doesn’t interest me. Jaguar came into F1 to suit themselves and have left to suit themselves. I would rather see three Ferraris, McLarens or Williams running at the front than a Jaguar fighting it out with Jordan and Minardi.”

Well, It's like I say, Ford need to give Jaguar to Jackie Stewart.

Bernie , maybe partially correct in how Jaguar-Ford has been run over the last few years, but there is a big difference when a engine company supplies only one other team in a special capacity with requirements to take on THEIR drivers etc and whom you can not take on.

Then two as say Honda did before realizing to be competative they would need to just supply only one. Cosworth were trying to supply more than two while doing alot of suppling of engines in other Formula events.

Would it be any different had the lower Teams received alot more money for being in F1 ? .....yep ,might of not lost Arrows. Bernie/mosley FIA FOM etc are still to blame for not opening up more funding to the Teams as it is now, even Ferrari are upset about that too ...even after winning for several years.

F1 is hurting BIG Time , and only some major hand outs are going to change anything ever. Ford is only accerating the most likely scenario of the F1 being redone and being totally revamped in a fews years time to the present.

I personally like the change because I believe the teams need to be receiving alot more from the revenues then they are ...and the F1 Fans to receiving a far better display of Top Grade World racing product.

Next year will be reshaping the future more than we know or are even let on to know. 3 car top team deployments will s*ck sh*t ,as those teams will just grab a pay driver anyways since they can not collect points.

When there is no rules , CASH is King.

Just have to wait it all out.

here here C.A.L.

But I wonder !!!!

Is this not unlike BIG companies that pay their directors / CEO's HUGE payments until the Shareholders REVOLT ?

Maybe thats what is needed in F1 a "Shareholder Revolt i.e. the RACE teams / Race Spectators, they are after all the shareholders/ circus providers / crowd entertainment officers etc."

I am wondering how the TV stations are viewing all this B.S. from Bernie ?

I for one would feel it hard to justify paying HUGE sums of money for a series that looks all for the world of falling flat on it's face next year mainly due to lack of "COMPETITORS". It has been hard enough for this "Die Hard" F1 viewer of some 30 odd years, to stay focused the last few years with Ferrari's demolition of the competition, but to have 3 Ferrari's, 3 Mclaren's, 3 William's and maybe Toyota and BARand Sauber filling the grid, seems to me to be just short of BOREDOM personified !!

WHAT in my opinion is needed is a CHANGE of Directors/CEO/Management i.e. SACK Bernie
