Moto Gp Versus F1

I must admit not to being a fan of Motor Bike Racing in the past, but after watching the Australian Moto Gp held in Melbourne this w/end I am HOOKED.

The 125 cc class had some tremendous racing, very close and fast for these tiny machines, whilst the 250 cc race was AWESOME. Heaps of passing and the winning trio finished with 1st place 1 bike ahead of 2nd and 3rd 1/1000th of a second behind !!!!!

Then came the big guns, the "Moto GP" with V. Rossi chasing his 4th I think world title. But it was not to be all his own way, from the start Rossi and another (sorry can't remember his name) fought head to head for 25 laps (120 kph) changing positions numerous times and travelling down the front straight at 330 kph side to side or nose to tail without the need for wings / traction control / automatic geraboxes / and all the other "MUST HAVE" that F1 seems to require. I don't even think they have a radio system, just relying on pit boards, like it used to be

OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH how F1 could LEARN a LOT from this form of racing, no pitstops for fuel or tyres Just ONE racer against ANOTHER racer with no team interference once the flag drops.

Gotta be " The Way To Go "

I wonder if BERNIE has ever watched this form of REAL racing ???? I doubt it, he would not make enough money from it !!!!

The world knows what great racing MotoGP offers. Here in the U.S. few know, and they are missing out. In the past I have followed it but not very closely. Since Nicky Hayden came on board, I have not missed many races. Despite the dominance of Rossi, the closeness of racing is unparalleled for road racing and much more dramatic than oval racing. The last few laps in Australian are often commonplace in MotoGP. Simply put, the best road racing in the world.

i've been watching most of the motoGP (aswell as 125, and 250 cc's) for this year. Its not too bad at all, i actually prefer the 125CC's to the two classes above it, its always closer plus Casey Stoner the aussie is pretty good

But anyway, F1 will always be ahead of the bikes for me.

now that JV is back, F1 is takes priority for me, but MOTOGP was the big thing for me this year. Rossi is a legend, nobody can deny that. Gibernau, try as he might just couldn't beat Vale, whilst the rest were made to look incompetent. Rossi did in 1 year what Biaggi couldn't do in 4, that being win the title with Yamaha!!! Ive been following MOTOGP since '98 and I'll always have a strong interest, especially with young guns such as Stoner - fast but too accident prone, West - give the kid a factory bike, he creamed Poggiali this year who was on THE factory machine, and of course Pedrosa, who could challenge Vale when he makes the move, in '06 Im guessing. Strong rumours Checa and Hopkins are favourite to take Bayliss' spot at Ducati, with Troy moving to Suzuki if Hopkins leaves, whilst Biaggi could replace Barros at Repsol Honda. Edwards has been confirmed as Rossi's teammate next year. Should be fantastic!!!
