Btcc Oulton - Rounds 9, 10 And 11

After a six week break, the series returns this weekend to the undulating Chesire circuit, Oulton Park.

Last year, it was home to perhaps the season's most memorable moment, as Matt Neal and Gordon Shedden "did a Red Bull" when running first and second:

Despite that, Shedden had taken a victory earlier in the day. Meanwhile, Plato capitalised on the Honda catastrophe to take victory in the second race, but went on an extraordinary on air tirade about the inequality as he saw it between the turbo and normally aspirated cars. The last race was Mat Jackson as he kickstarted his title challenge.

This is how the points standings are after three rounds:

Jason Plato - 129 points

Gordon Shedden - 125 points

Matt Neal - 115 points

Mat Jackson - 107 points

Rob Collard - 103 points

Andrew Jordan - 94 points

Dave Newsham - 74 points

Jeff Smith - 67 points

Tom Onslow-Cole- 64 points

Frank Wrathall- 60 points

Overtaking can be tricky here, but the three best places to pass remain to be Island Bend hairpin, Knickerbrook chicane and the last corner - Lodge, although as Neal has already proven, it can be notoriously difficult to pull of a clean pass there!

It has been drawn to my attention that the third BTCC race won't be shown live this weekend. ITV4 has the rights for the French Open tennis competition that is currently taking place. BTCC is broadcast from 11am to 4pm, and then there's a two-hour highlight programme after the tennis from 8pm to 10pm which should show the reverse grid BTCC race in its entirity.

There may be an option to watch the third race on ITV's website too. I'll keep this thread informed.

In more interesting news, Will Bratt, a previous winner in F2, will make his debut in a Rob Austin Racing Audi this weekend. Rob Austin won't be there sadly, due to ongoing engine problems on the other car. Another absentee is Thorney Motorsport as their struggles show no signs of ending any time soon. But I'm interested to see how Will gets on. He's a quick guy and could be near the sharp end of the grid relatively quickly.
