The expected natural predesessor - George Russell IS strugglin AFTER the initial BURST on the scene.
It was only expected, the drive and eagerness of youth is now fadin WITHOUT the required results. 
Which IS causin Hamilton 2 DELAY, the inevitable pretirement.  For the good of "his" team.
