Do you think it could happen. I bet no matter what EJ says that he is p**sed off with Takuma Sato's crashing ways, because it is expenzive to fix the cars. I think Irvine is a real possibility for next years other Jordan seat.

Even if 2003 is not Irv's final year, (I think it will be) I feel that who ever he drives for in 2003 will be his final team, he won't get another contract at his age.  Even if he is the 2nd best.........

It would be unusual to see him back in the Jordan, not many drivers finish their careers driving for the team they debuted with, short term (3 years or less) drivers aside.  The only one of note I can think of is Jimmy Clark, and he didn't even go full circle he stayed where he was.  It really would be full circle if Irv did it Mid-field to Top-field to Bottom-field then back to the middle.

Some reports are even suggesting a Irv-Fissy swap??

Is that 'cos GF is too expensive for Jordan, but surely his salary (I heard about 6m) costs less than all the cars Takuma keeps destroying.

6m doesn't that put him about 4th (or 6th I dunno about the Williams drivers) Behind MS, JV and EI.  In the salary standings

Oh yeah no doubt that EJ is annoyed about Sato, the team is in financial trouble and Sato keeps wrecking cars, it's got to be the last thing EJ needs right now.  

I think the damage has been done and i reckon Sato may be shown the door at the end of the year.

Hakkinen makes no money this year, but I'll bet he's got plenty stashed away for it to make no difference.

The damage may be done for Sato in Jordan but has it been done for his F1 career, many a driver has made many an "impact" in their first year and gone on have a long and fruitful F1 experience.  Pity Japans fastest driver ever is also so erratic.

It's a shame as i saw him race last year in F3 and also meet him and he seemed like a pretty good guy, surprisingly quiet, i too thought that he may be the first Asian driver to overcome their not so good reputation.  Guess not.

If he can wangle a drive next year somehow he may have a chance to lose that reputation.  To do that though he has to sort himself out this year, and start next year clean.

Don't know why Honda would chose BAR over Jordan.  Results are what counts.

So far I think Fisichella can realistically finish fifth or sixth, fourth with a few retirements. Renault didn't have the best of days, Button couldn't do much all day.

If you consider that Williams, Mclaren, and Ferrari all already fill up the point positions, then without any retirements Fisi would have to outrace faster cars. With a retirement from the top 3, sixth could be taken if he outraces the Renault's and other cars vying for points. That just tells you how hard it is for him to get to fourth or third.

If Irv drove as well as he talked he'd be a multi-DWC.

Eddie has (apparently) stated he will take a pay cut to stay with Jag in 2003. Button has now been the latest driver spied talking to Jag. Could we see another Fisi/Button season.

I can't believe EJ would waste his money on a 36 year old wash out. Eddie is going to lose his ride at Jaguar for sure, and at his age, it's time to spend more time on the Anaconda.

Eddie's saving grace is that he's Niki's party pal. If I were chairman at Ford, they'd both be gone.

Neither of them seem to be making any headway, or trying anything worthwhile. At least Bobby Rahal tried to snare Newey, but he's the one whos gone.
