F1 Schism

I understand from reading posts & the news links that there's the potential for a schism in F1, with some teams splitting to start their own league. (Sounds kidna like the split between the IRL & ChampCar nee CART). Is there serious potential for this after '06?

What's the root cause, can some1 explain the basics of the controversy to me? I know some strong dislike for Max Mosely & B. Ecclestone is involved, but being an F1 n00b & trying to catch up on the fly, I can't quite get a handle on what the issues are that's resulting in discussion of splitting Formula1. Thanks for being patient w/me.

The root cause is due to unfair distribution of F1 broadcasting income to F1 teams. From what I can recall, Ferrari is getting 14% more than other teams even if they finished below the minardi team.

I am finding the article for you. I saw it during the day michelin and its runners was officially cleared from FIA accusation.
