Mclaren back to Bridgestone?

Recommended Posts

And Hoosier have not really ventured out of drag racing. Firestone is Bridgestone. Chances of BF Goodrich are quite slim aren't they. Who else is left?? So more than 2 is almost certainly a no go for some time then.

That info is harder to find in one place, you really have to look in books that concentrate on one or just a few years.

I am missing pre 1974, 1977, 1979-80 and 1985 so it anyone can fill that year in please do but from 1986 on there has been only one or two tyres at a time.

In 1982-84 there was 3 Pirelli, Michelin and Goodyear.

In 1981 there was 4 Pirelli, Michelin, Goodyear and Avon.

In 1978 there was 2 Michelin and Goodyear

The books I have on 1974 to 1976 don't hold that info, but the only tyre names I can see in the photos are

In 1975-76 Goodyear

In 1974 Firestone and Goodyear.

I would love to see 3 tyre manufacturers back in F1, it would add abit more spice to an already very hot war.

Michelin have definatly got alot of worked to do over the winter.

Yeah I would also love to see 3 fighting it out. Unfortunately, as mentioned above it doesn't look very likely for awhile yet. :D
