Monza qualifying

Great qualifying! Im really happy that the Jaguars have managed to improve and have both cars in the top ten, Irvine is now starting from fifth after Raikkonen's penalty. Coulthard really didnt do too well, while JPM was better than anyone else. It was great to watch!

But Jens, since you are not a MS fan you must be glad that it is still one of the few records he doesn't yet hold.

I'll check it out but I think JPM has probably obtained another record most poles in a season without winning. He only has 2 races to avoid that, if he is indeed heading there.

Is that so? Amazing that JPM hasn't won considering the amount of poles hes racked up...

It is true that MS doesnt hold that record, but he already has so many that it doesn't really matter :D

Chances are it will be broken again next season, pole will be faster again, who will it be. Hard to tell without seeing next years cars in action yet.

Yes you cant really tell until testing with the new chassis starts. Williams are promising a whole deal from the FW25, while Mclaren and Adrian Newey (you really always seem to believe him dont you?) are saying the MP4-18 will be to 2003 as the MP4-13 was to 1998. Meanwhile Jaguar are confident, as are a whole load of other teams. So we will have to wait and see.

I think that its going to take an extraordinary effort for anybody to overhaul Ferrari in the next year!! :D:D

I hope both McLaren and Williams are competitive with Ferrari next year, for two reasons.

1) The racing would be more exciting, when was the last season where there were 3 top teams 1985 I reckon. in that season there were 4, guess who and Lotus.

2) Ferrari will still have the edge (I hope). If both Williams and McLaren are battling Ferrari they are going to take points from each other, so are less likely to luck-in to the titles. Something that could happen if Ferrari only had one challenger.

McLaren did do great things with the MP4/13 of 1998, but they are further behind Ferrari this year than they were behing Williams in 97. But yes it is still possible to challenge Ferrari, but I don't see any team dominating Ferrari next year.... Unless Ferrari stuff up their design.

A few more battles for the lead would certainly provide for better viewing. As some circuit TV directors sitll like to concentrate on the lead rather than the battles, than have been constant this year all the way down the grid.

Ferrari are heading to equal another record this year, 15 wins by a team in a season.

Mclaren hold that record dont they? Ferrari would have to win both remaining races which can easily happen...

I wonder why the TV directors show us the leaders going around and around, when there are good battles going on further down the points and on.

Yes McLaren-Honda 1998, Ayron Senna and Alain Prost.

To be honest some of the directors have gotten better but not enough of them, more improvement is needed. Yet some go too far and just concentrate on the battles, when every couple of laps of so they should show 10-15 seconds of the leader.

Malaysia is the other track that has never been good. At qualifying the director always catches the drivers on their in/out lap, not their flier.

Is that right, I wouldn't know. Don't get qualifing on telly over here. Still haven't found any live video of it on the web either.

You wont find any live telly, at least one thats legal. The FOM are very strict on these rules, www.f1onboard.com is the only site I know where good quality video can be downloaded, not live of course.

You had it here last year but not this year, and the FOSA official website has it but they only have enough banwidth to allow 200 viewers at a time.
