It is said so because the drivers are expected to be the best in the world. It is not often mentioned that the cars as well are not exactly the easiest to drive.

Some people expect to be good as they step up just 'cos they were good in a lower formula, and don't adapt as well to the different characteristics of the car.

I laughed when the Williams messed up, it was just so funny to see Patrick Head so mad in the garage!

Definitely not! There were other hilarious things in the race, for example when Pedro de la Rosa jumped over the fence and stumbled flat onto his face! It was probably the funniest thing Ive seen this season!

Didn't a marshal, tell him to get over the fence quickly but forgot to tell him there was a river/creek on the other side and PdlR got a little wet.

Yea, as a matter of fact when I was at the race in 2000 I saw a marshal almost do the same thing as we were sitting right there, but then he was able to keep his balance and stay upright. PDLR did get a bit wet, Peter Windsor interviewed him afterwards without any idea of what had happened, it was such a hilarious explanation/story!

He was interviewed at least 10 times just on the way back to the pits, so I dont think he had too much of a chance

To the topic, Keke Rosberg's son Nico Rosberg has just won the Formula BMW series with a dominant performance at Zandvoort, and could also be in F1 cars a few years from now. I am not sure though if Nico is a Finnish citizen, he races with a Finnish licence but doesn't speak the language as I believe he was brought up elsewhere.

That is said about a lot of ex F1 drivers sons, but it doesn't happen nearly as often as it is said. It has happened with Andretti, Brabham, Fittipaldi, Hill, Villeneuve, but has been suggested (in variying levels of reality) for dozens of others.

dude jens he aint gonna make it.........not 04, i dont think even 05......but thats my views cause he doesnt have a drive......think of it this way..if u were a constuctor and u wanted a driver to finish u in the points as much as possible.........then would u chose a driver with absolutely no F1 experience?????????

Excuse me while I rack up a few examples: Raikkonen, Massa, Button, Heidfeld. And those are just recent years.

But there are many drivers vying for seats and being the son of a former world champion will not mean much in the race for the seat. I agree completely, just brought it up. Nico said he is looking now to F3 and F3000, F1 is still not on his mind. Which is good, he is 17 and should concentrate on doing the current job better.

He should just concentrate on the job at hand, and not worry about F1 like you stated Jens. He has a long time to go.

NICO IS GOING TO RUN AN F1 TEST!!!!!!! Later this year Rosberg will run a test in the FW24 and will possibly be called upon to help with testing duties at the team depending on where Antonio Pizzonia goes! Great, I honestly cant WAIT to see what he can do! At only 17years of age, I mean how amazing would it be to see him racing in F1 in a few years?

I met Heikki this year at Silverstone in the F3 Paddock, he's so down to earth and so fast, he's like Kimi with a personality.

I'm sure one day he'll be huge.

Though I have seen him on the Finnish news numerous times, he certainly doesnt mumble to the camera and its actually possible to understand him! Heikki has said he doesn't wish to race in F3000, and would ideally do a season of F1 testing. I do know that he is part of the Renault young driver programme, and they don't have a tester for 2003...

Youngest person in F1, it's probably not far off Jenson, as he was bloody young wasn't he. The youngest ever champion is Emmo at the age of 25.

As for Finnish drivers what about that Kimo Litmaninnen or whatever hes called. Aparantly did well on his German F3 debut for Rosberg.

What about Nelsons son, he's coming over to British F3 next year wonder when well see Nico overhere full time? I reckon it's gotta be next year.
