Jaguar and "the Eddie "

Recommended Posts

um well " the Mouth" , the "Leprechaun" has said his bit and this time about his TEAM mate.. Like HE is Blaming his team Mates idea of what the Jaguar needed to make it more competitive????

WOW my advise to Eddie is to go and grow roses or maybe Daffodils ( they only flower once a year / every year so he should not have a problem with them ) in some Irish field. Like what he stated in his report/reply was that HIS interpretation of what the Jaguar car needed to win was everything he had stated, um seems to me Eddie is somewhat thinking he is an M.S. without the mechanics..... WRONG Eddie !!!!!!! M.S. also has BRAINS and a very high proportion of ABILITY.. both of which I believe Eddie lacks in great degrees . Just my humble opinion

Eddie does tend to shout his mouth off a bit more than he should, so I gotta agree with you there.

However in this case when it comes to improving the Jaguar, I personally beleive the Eddie would be a lot more knowledgeable than De La Rosa. It must be remembered that EI has driven a championship winning car before, and therefore does know what works & what doesn't. If Jaguar weren't listening to his input at the beginning of the season then I'm afraid that Eddie does have the right to bitch this time round....

Sure Eddie may be smart, but Pedro isnt an idiot either. But it true that Irvine has raced the Ferrari, then again that was back in 1999 and technology is different now. I think DC is revving the motormouth higher than Eddie at the moment though...

DC is going for it, it has been a couple of days too so we must be in for the next installment very soon.

EI I think he just doesn't like PdlR, he has complained about him before, without real cause. But drivers often see different problems with the car as being more important than 'his problems'. And that is all I think it is, a case of 'I don't like you, and I'm more important than you".

Its not like EI isn't arrogant. Pedro was faster than him at some points of this and last season, but recently he's been a great deal behind Eddie in terms of results. Hopefully Eddie keeps it up at Indy and Suzuka, because I'd like to see him racing next year still.

Lauda has announced that he has three different Cosworth engines for next year, a best, second best, and third best. Jaguar gets the best, Jordan the second best, while the third may not go to anyone depending on Minardi and Arrows. Should Eddie move on to Jordan or elsewhere, knowing that Jag will have the best engine of the possibilities anyway?

well at least my entry got a few replies :-)))))))

As for Eddie, well I guess you people can gather that he is not my most favourite racing driver,, a sort of Nigel Mansell MINUS the talent..( and well Nige was not one of my favourites either). Eddie drove for Ferrari, so what , I do not see his input into the Ferrari domination as it is now !!! and given Eddies DNF's this year, would YOU as a team manager take a lot of notice ??? Ok some times a DNF is trully a mechanical fault, others a Drivers fault. This is where in my humble opinion the Aussie Mark Weber will rein supreme.. As I understand it he has fought with a car that has had many problems during the race but still manaed to bring it home, albeit maybe last but a FINISH.. The old Cliche to finish FIRST, First you have to finish :-)

You are right there Rod, Webber has fought the car home on a few occasions including Australia when he scored 2 points. Without the problem he could have beaten the Irv, and it make his defence of 5th against Salo even more impressive then it already was.

Alesi would have finished last season without a single DNF had it not been for the crash with Kimi at Suzuka. MS can do it this year, would you know nichosnz when this happened last?

As for Eddie though, he was second fastest today at Indy, almost a second ahead of DC and Kimi in third and fourth. Not too bad, the Jag has made a great pick up in performance.

I think MS will do it unless there is a pileup at the start, or he has a problem like Rubens had yesterday. The F2002 has not retired out of a single race this season.

To odds are quite good for him. BTW Jens, Alesi did fail to finish one other race last year, but it was so close to the end he was classified as a finisher.

European GP, on the last lap Alesi spins trying to pass Raikkonen for 10th place. The same driver that caused Alesi's accident in Japan.

If he was classified as a finisher he officially didn't retire from the race though. I honestly cannot remember any season where someone had perfect reliability.

*smile* and Michael just keeps rolling along, he has passed all the milestones of history apart from one set by Senna.

Honestly guys/gal what else does this guy have to aim for ???

I do like his methodology towards a race meeting and his dedication, but HELL for once in a while M.S. make a MISTAKE please..... no one can be THAT perfect :-)

Apart from the pole record I dont think MS has anything else left to achieve in F1 except a sixth championship to set a new record. And I wont be surprised when he does it next year, which he will if the Ferrari doesnt turn out to be a snail.

I think that Ferrari could race this years car next year and probably still clinch both titles... MS will get 6 and possibly 7 WDC and then decide to call it quits...

Lots of experts are saying that MS will not break that record, but he has 49 to Senna's 65, that is 16 short. MS has averaged 9 per year in the past 3 years at that rate he will just acheive it when his contract runs out at the end of 2004.

If he races until the end of 2004 then he will surely beat that record. But he may quit after next year, who knows? The F2002 will still be competitive next year, but the team already has a new car that they say is much better than the current one! Mclaren is going to start next season with the MP4-17D, an updated version of this years car, and the MP4-18 will debut at Imola I guess.

Yep, Patrick Head and Frank Williams both told the press a while back that the FW25 will be "a work of pure innovation" - the F1 way of saying radical. I think Newey is going for a evolution, but a a very modified rear end. Mclaren did snatch the guy who designed this years gearbox/rearend for the F2002, so once testing rolls around in November we will see.

I thought that was the case, with the Ferrari Gearbox Guy.

Even with the completly different approaches, I reackon the McLaren and Williams will still be similarly paced.
