Montoya cant read lololol

Recommended Posts

latest comments from Head refer to that montoya was careless and did not read well............

"That's the opinion of Williams technical director Patrick Head after the Colombian pitted at the wrong time during the United States Grand Prix.

He believes his team had a good chance of pressing Ferrari hard for victory. Montoya read the wrong pit board and caught his team by surprise when he suddenly peeled off the track and into the pits.

"It is a side of his performance that he has got to pay more attention to if he going to make use of that talent that he has as a driver," said Head.

Montoya misread his pit-board and pitted 10 laps too early. But he compounded the mistake by failing to radio the team that he was about to pit.

"Juan imagined something that was never on the pit-board, didn't follow his procedures, didn't communicate to the pits in the way that he is supposed to and decided to come into the pits," added Head.

Too many Big Mac's, probably clogging blood flow to his brain  It was a stupid mistake that cost him, 10 laps on lower fuel would have most certainly given him third place over DC in the race. The difference is huge, just compare DC's and Barrichello's lap times from the first stint.

LOL! Between that and the boo-boo with Ralf, I would hate to have been in his shoes after the race. I'm surprised he even stopped the car after the race and didn't just keep on driving.

*on a side note...* TotalF1Jens, your sig is awesome.

 batgurl you are right, surprised Montoya just didn't take the exit road and didn't head for the motorway! :D

Great to see someone telling it like it is about JPM(my least favourite driver).

He reminds me of ex-US president Jimmy Carter.

The media always claimed that Jimmy couldn't walk & chew gum at the same time. ;)

As for taking the race to Ferrari.

He couldn't catch DC let alone RB & MS who were running at about 90% pace toward the end of the race.

LOL  And Montoya cant drive and read at the same time, hahaha!!! I honestly dont have a real opinion on Monty yet, he has shown some flashes of skill but then evened it out with the opposite as well.

Your comments have always been great GnS, welcome back!!

10 laps is a lot of an error, I can't recall a driver of a top team making a pitting mistake that big in the past ever.

Flashes of skill, and then flashes of stupidity.

Yeah I'm much the same. I don't love Montoya but I don't mind him either. I think he is also one of those drivers that needs to calm down a bit before he will ever maximise his permormance fom the car.

P.S. Great to hear from you G&S & Batgurl....

The first time my wife saw him in a interview, she said 'I don't like him, he is too far up himself, most drivers are confident, he already thinks he is the best, and the other drivers should treat him that way'. This was before he even raced an F1 car.

well Montoya is a FORMER " CART" champion !!! If the rumour is correct and an "ALL AMERICAN TEAM " is about to enter F1 with AMERICAN drivers, the mind wonders what that team will be like !!! MAYBE those drivers will be reading the Ferrari Pit boards and not even HAVE radio's LOL apart from maybe a CD player hehehehehehehe..

I think though that bit boards are so 'old' in a way, with today's technology the team should just not bother with them and use the radio, or then hit a switch that flashes a light on the steering wheel or something like that. But Montoya made the mistake of not saying anything, so I dont exactly know what he was thinking

Montoya is one hella of a driver......his attitude is kinda like me...i get myself really mad at everything and just because fo pure anger and beliefs i can perform....i havent raced cars much except for Go-Carts in Manchester but yea in other sports it always workds. I like teh way Monotoya drives because he has my kinda temper. Its great too hear soo many different opinions.....

P.S i agree with Senor Jens Monty could have caught up to DC!! and maybe taken podium away from DC cause i hate i mean HATE DC

Will you still like him Rohan if he calms down and gets the results he has suggested he can. But doesn't show the temper.

Im hoping Montoya doesnt get too carried away from now on, because it is turning into a Sato like problem. It would be nice to have more than one person challenging for the championsihp next year.

hey nichosnz yea i would still like Montoya and i think Jens is very right tooo, as i am tired of a scarlet podium.........need the mclarens and the beamer getting up there more often.....and the only way is if Montoya calms down a Bit....just a bit...but for Mclaren i seroisly think DC should give up his spot to more talented drivers..........or atleast to Raikonnen cause hes better even though the luck is always not with him. :P

Rohan, I agree about the DC issue, and whilst I still want Ferrai to win, I also agree ...need the mclarens and the beamer getting up there more often...

I have to say I agree with nichosnz's wife :P

While I think he "could" be a great driver, he doesn't seem very consistant. It seems odd to me that with as well as he qualifies most of the time, he can't seem to finish better more often.

Don't think anger is the right way to go for any sportsperson, especially a racing driver.

When playing Rugby I always got severely knocked about if I lost my temper & acted on emotion instead of what little talent I had.

Fangio said he always tried to win at the slowest possible speed, Jack Brabham & Peter Brock were masters of self control.

To add to that list, Mika Hakkinen was also a star under pressure as he proved several times in his championship years. A cool head is needed for everything at some point, but the key is to try and make your instincts into the right move in my opinion.

G&S has it right with regards to rugby, and other full contact sports like ice hockey, you can set youself up for a lot of damage if you get angry, or just are angry.

In ice hockey as well when you are simply mad on the ice you dont play well, as it is a very fast sport and you need to have your reflexes perfect. Being mad gets you out of focus, and away from where you are supposed to be.

Maybe Williams should pay for Juan to go a hockey camp! :D

Rugby is different man.....i mean we dont need anger but the attitude and the confidance!!!!!!

shumi is a legend and montoya has a chance to become one as he's only 26!

I like F1 for the different drivers!!!

Hakkinen/Sena-GOD OF F1

Shumi-elegance

Barrichelo-rampant/frustrated

Montoya-aggressive

Ralf-calm and frustrated at the same time

DC-CALM

Raikonnen-newkid

Sato-entertainer

Yoong-joke

Webber-audience

Irvine-the needle in the haystack

i can go on but u get the idea lol
