Depends, Peugeot was never quite good in F1 but look at how they are doing in the WRC!

Lambo have tryed sports touring series also with not too much success, I beleive.

They do make nice street cars though, I wouldnt mind getting my hands on a Murcielago That car is beautiful in the best sense of the word.

Is it I haven't seen that one. That will be a change after almost 30 years of the ugly Countach and even worse Diablo. Before then about a third of their designs were nice (the ones that looked like copies) the others were ugly.

indeed lamboghini have refined their designs, from the uglyish Countach to the damn smooth refined Murcelego (sp).

i dont think they would do very well though in F1, as they are owned by Audi, who are owned by VW , who are now putting more money into Bently to win Lemans instead of audi etc

Is that so? I learn so much here, I always thought Lamborghini was its own company, not owned by anyone. Though if the top of that hierarchy is VW, then it may be a possibility indeed. A week or so ago Peter Sauber told us that he has had contact with VW, to have them step into F1 as the engine supplier for Sauber. I think it will happen, because Sauber have proved the worth of their chassis with their competitiveness over the past two seasons.

No, Lamborghini hasn't been it's own company for years. Before VW owned it, some crowd in Asia did (Korea? I think).

Well, I think they will be getting back on track with the Murcielago, it has broken all kinds of street car records, but still not as many as the Mclaren F1.

But maybe for more sporty appeal VW would use the Lamborghini badge if they enter F1, its not as if Volkswagen needs more advertising.

Breaking record is not a guarentee of on track success. Look no further than the BMW powered McLaren F1, had a little on track success but not nearly as much as you would expect fro a car that apparently goes real fast, handles like a dream, has very good drivability, has reasonably good reliability...

The Mclaren F1 is the fastest street car there is, I think it reached 375km/h in tests. I think though that its on track success was limited because it was too expensive to bring into sports car series, and never really had the backing it needed.

I completely forgot about that DJC, he is right that only a limited number of them were made so it meant that most went to street use, even though theyre probably all sitting in a garage somewhere being admired.

Yea but I'll bet a fair share arent used daily, or very often for that matter. I also saw one a few years back in England, with the driver a youngish guy showing off his revs in London. It was nice though, a beautiful car in my opinion. I especially like the centered driver's seat, excellent.

yea sorry about the LAMB!!!!!!u guys figured it out...its a slang used in Manchester for the Lamborghni...by the way Nichosnz is right the Lambo is owned by Audi....i mean partly because Audi is a part of WV which is started by Mr. Porsche....so basically Porsche owns everything!!!!!!from Porsche-to-WV-to-Audi-Lamborghini's

i have to agree with Jens in all counts the Murcielago is a beautiful machine!!!

but more than 26 cars would make a good qualifying battle....i can imagine Barrichelo or Montoya blowing up/crashing and the T-car not available and not being able to qualify.....but thats just a dream!!!!!

more constructors who can challenge the best would be great (i am guessing from the LeMans series)

I agree it would be nice to have some more manufacturers, but then that does away with the aspect of private teams like Jordan and Minardi, and it is a shame to see those names being replaced by the manufacturer's names. But I guess it is a necessity in order to get manufacturer backing, but I hope that if Sauber gets Volkswagen that it stays as Sauber-VW.

Yes I agree about the manufacturers as well, but like Jens said Sauber should become Sauber-VW(Audi), McLaren Should stay McLaren-Mercedes, Williams should...

Actually Rohan the credit for stating that VW owns Lamb should go to DJC, he was the first to mention it.

What could make qualifing really interesting is (a Bernie Idea coming up) if with a 30 car grid rather then the slowest 4 cars not qualifing have P5, P12, P20, P30 not qualifing.

I've been to Manchester once, and I have to say I thought the place was quite dirty... I liked Woking, but I loved London.

My sister has been to London and she said it is horribly dirty, you step outside for two minutes and need to change your clothes!
