F1 is heading to China, with a brand new circuit being built at Shanghai.

"Mr. Ecclestone and Mr. Mosley will visit Shanghai very soon," an official from the Shanghai International Circuit Company confirmed. "They will participate in the opening ceremony for work on the track and on October 20th they will sign an agreement to hold a Formula One Grand Prix event in Shanghai from 2004 to 2010."

Guess who designed the track?! Hermann Tilke!! Isn't Malaysia, the new Hockenheim, new Nurburgring, and Bahrain enough circuits from one man?! I dont know anything about the guy, but he is horrible at designing good tracks, and Bernie should really have picked someone else to build a circuit somewhere else. OK so China doesn't have a GP, but I think at this point in time Russia would have been a better choice.

Count me in!!!! Bernie, Max and Hermann must go...

Can you guys honestly tell me that F1 has a good future in sight for it. I used to be the most die-hard fan you would ever meet but Bernie & co are really beginning to push my buttons. If anymore boring races get added to the calendar I think I might as well take up bowls as a Sunday afternoon sport. Its got to be about as interesting anyway.

Watching grass grow is about the same as watching F1 now, just that you're only watching Schumacher's points haul grow

But if nothing happens soon to get the better tracks that already exist, then hurry up Premier1 and GPWC!

The biggest problem with F1 is that Bernie and Max have too much power. Both the FIA and Bernie have been asked to officiate the GPWC. But the biggest difference seems to be that the will have less power (and money) and the teams will have more. Compared to the current situation.

Well, to me that sounds like asking Napoleon Bonaparte to give up a lot of his dictatorial powers. I dont think Bernie would go along with it, I mean the name Formula 1 (maybe even more just F1) has so much worldwide recognition as a glamorous form of motorsport, the best there is. Bernie will probably try his best to do what he can to improve F1, just that right now he is doing the wrong things.

He is talking about less spending in F1, then why spend $500 million on building two brand new tracks in countries that make the race a flyaway, which just costs even more? Great tracks like Zandvoort in Holland and Bathurst in Oz (there should be an Australia West race) are being left unused.

I'm also just sorta hoping that Bernie & co don't get to much control in Premier1 and GPWC, because I'm counting on that to bring back a bit of close racing in motorsport again... Can't come soon enough if you ask me. <_<

But then, will Bernie allow Premier1 and GPWC to get as big and popular as F1? There are things he can do to prevent that, though I doubt he will do so. And we must remember, no one can live forever and Bernie is 71.

The day Bernie sold part of his company was the day his input into F1 went from brilliant to 'what the hell are you doing'. He should have retired that day rather than stuff everything up.

Bernie has done great things to the world of F1, but getting Kirch involved was a huge mistake. His worst, though it will be his second worst if he actually uses some of the points from 'the plan'
