Turkish GP for 2005

Recommended Posts

Bernie Ecclestone has given the go ahead for the Turkish GP to start running in 2005. The contract should be signed in the next two or three weeks, while Hermann Tilke (again :( ) will be designing the track.

I dont know how all these new races will do with the current schedule, it will be interesting, but I was in a way hoping for a transcontinental GP to run in the streets of Istanbul :D Looks like it will be a traditional race track though, which is a shame especially as you-know-who will be designing the track.

As of yet a track layout is not available.

We can't be the only fans, that majorly dislike Tilke's designs. Bernie must have no consideration for the F1 fans if he keeps approving proposals put to him naming Hermann Tilke as designer.

Get in touch with the opinions of the people Bernie, isn't that what counts,

NO FANS=NO F1

Yea, but once in a while the pooch gets it right :D It is possible, though unlikely, that they will get a nice track with gradient changes and some proper turns, but somehow I doubt it.

Well as far as I know the site for the track excavation is not in a completely flat place so we may well see some good gradient changes. I know a person that is currently on his way to check the whole thing out, so as soon as I talk to him we should know more.

Yes but Jens, just last week at the Dubai site thoundands of tons of rock were blasted from a non-flat terrain. That could happen in Istanbul.
