I read a Williams insider say it was deliberate, evidence?... he did the same thing to HHF more than once at Williams.

It does not prove anything conclusively besides the fact that BAR's radio comm. is pretty messed up, can't tell whether either side understood the other, but listen to what the uptil-then-speaking-in-dutch commentator says at the end, a very appropriate summation

On a side note, I didn't get to see the two Williams pit, but I think they both pitted together on their first Stop - Lap16 or 17, why no hue and cry about that in the news ?

Because it was timed to perfection, Montoya was exiting the front of box as Schumacher was entering the rear. And the rear jack mechanic had to move quicly.

JV: (unclearly) NO FOOKIN' WAY!

and then later

BAR: Let Jenson ahead, let Jenson ahead!

Thankfully the cat-fight seems to have died down a little since Malaysia, however Frentzen is keen to defend his former partner.

I still back Jacques as one of the best, but maybe he does put a little bit too much of his effort into talking trash... But Frentzen would not say something like this for no reason, so JV can't really be all that bad to his teammates!

Unless, of course, Heinz-Harald got bribed to tell this to the press...

Heinz did tell this to the press quite late you're right... I guess JV wants to do his talking on the track, but wants to try make Jenson slower with his mind games, because at full blast Jenson is faster!

On a totally unrelated note, out of sheer boredom, I was reviewing some of the older races, and looking at Spa98, I can't believe the first lap mayhem !! There were at least 6-8 tyres just rolling along, free of the cars ! And to think it took them until JV's accident to call for stronger tethers ! (In fact, you can even see one tyre nearly hit a spectator @ Spa !)

Of course it was great to see schumi turn his ferrari into a tricycle short of the end, with DC's cooperation, and his subsequent mad dash to the McLaren Pits ! How he's mellowed

Hahhahah That brings back good memories, I loved that whole scene with MS running into DC's face, great stuff!! I wish stuff like that happened more often, but F1 has become so politically correct!

I can only think of a couple of incident like that...

Senna vs Irvine and Piquet vs Salazar was particullarly funny.

I agree though Jens it is a pity F1 drivers have been so sterilised.

Oh, and with regard to squabbles, I don't remember exactly what happened, but I believe it was in '92, can't remember the race, but 'Dumi' was in a benetton, and he took Senna in the Mac off the track, and got some 'advice' later ... And the mother of all battles : Senna vs. Prost, coming to a head at the '90 Japanese GP, who can forget, Senna taking Prost's Ferrari off the track at 140 mph ? That, even I must say, was foolhardy at the very least ...

Funny thing Sato or Massa didn't get the same 'advice'. The 1992 incident was a rookie mistake, Senna cannot think that he made none of those.

GS - Yea, I have no idea how I forgot to slip an ad for the forum this time round! It's starting to get so hot here in California, must be affecting my thinking..

Remember Mika's mindboggling pass over Schumi at Spa in 2000? The lap before Michael made a bad move to block Mika, and after the race theres a good video of the two having a discussion about it, and then Ralf joining in to listen to Mika's lesson about proper blocking. How I really miss those two battling, they were able to do it so civil and got along despite being the two greatest rivals on track! Mika didn't go yelling at Michael after the foolhardy block. Even after things like Macau in 1990! Often the two even dined together on race weekends with their wives! How weird is that, considering how the two battled on track?

I know its hypocritical, while I acknowledge that Schumi is a brilliant driver, I'll always have a lower opinion of him due the 'blocks' he's pulled(Macau, Adelaide, Jerez, Argentia ...), and yet I never questioned it when Senna did something far, far more dangerous... now I'm in a serious moral dilemma , Look what you've done Jens !

Jeez, these times of introspection between GP's really get to me No juicy rumors or tidbits coming out either Wonder when Mac will unveil the new "remote-controlled" racer

Schumacher may not be the most honorable guy on track, at least not always, but one must admit that he is a quite normal guy off it. Very family man, quite odd how the contrast goes, but it is true...

A lot of people are hypocritical like that GaySchumi, inculding every driver who has complained about MS defence. And I also find it funny that every single MS startline sweep gets a lot of press, even more than Tyson biting of a part of a ear a few years back.
