THE WRAP!

Recommended Posts

I apologize sincerely for not having a Wrap last week!!! I can't believe it myself, but I honestly completely forgot about it and realized today as I started on this week's edition. There is so much, too much, going on right now that it makes sense, but I feel like an idiot for forgetting. Expect a new one for tomorrow, can't believe I forgot it still :o

Hey Jens

Great having the wrap back. Always makes for an interesting read. Gotta diagree with your opinion on this weeks one though. To me if the tyres are illegal they are illegal, and the FIA has got every right to disqualify the offending teams then. No questions asked. Can you imagine if it was Ferrari using illegal tyres. The press would have instantly labelled them as cheaters, but as its Williams & Mclaren (i.e new Title contenders) the FIA is suddenly interfering in the championship . Even Gerhard Berger has come out and said that Ferrari have a legitimate complaint, and that any other team would have done the same. :D

Opinions, never the same are they? :D

My stance isn't exactly against Ferrari, but it's just against the timing. With three races to go, I mean come on!!! If performance levels change by a definite margin then I will not be able to definitely trust the results..

The timing is such because Bridgestone has suspected Michelin for a while and had been gathering evidence, and only had enough real proof after the Hungarian GP.

I agree with daz that (regardless of timimg) Ferrari would be considered the bad guys in this even if the situation was reversed. My first thought is that the press have a double standard, then I realised that they do not. They only have one standard and that is that, Ferrari is always in the wrong.

Ferrari are cheats without using illegal tyres :P

anyway, from what i undrstand didn't they change the ruling to do this or sumfin?...which would make it rather stupid, if they haven't them im happy that they are enforcing it :)

No Jordan_rule, no rule changes, just the FIA saying that they will check the tyres after use as well as before. Like they do with every other part of the car. Except crash testing, for cost reasons.
