Improvements made to the FW26 ahead of Spain

BMW-Williams is confident of an eventual return to the front of the F1 field.

The Grove-based team is set to unveil 'further improvements' to the tusk-nosed FW26 car in Barcelona after failing to win any of the first four races of 2004.

'We've made mechanical and aero improvements since Imola,' said Sam Michael.

The chief operations engineer said Williams also tried two new Michelin tyre compounds at the recent Silverstone test that should 'help in our efforts.

'We obviously want to compete at the front,' the Aussie said on Monday.
