Urgent Help Required

Recommended Posts

Hey all, one of my best friends' 18yr old brother died in a car crash yesterday, and I feel I need to do something to help her. Obviously being halfway around the world means I wont be able to be there for her at the funeral, and I feel like Sh#t that I can't even be there to give her a hug. So I'm thinking of posting a card and sending a large bunch of flowers to her and her family. This is where the help is required as I don't really know what flowers to send in relation to a death!

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Sorry to hear that Ben.

Lilies make for a good choice. Not too overbearing. If you want to make it a little more personal to your best mate to show her your support, get her a small friendship bear to let her know you're there if she needs to talk, rant, vent or scream.

As for the card, simply 'our heartfelt condolences. Ben and family'

I hope this helps you.

Ok thanks a lot. I have ordered a bunch of lilies and did indeed write a personal message on the card. Didn't get a friendship bear too because she doesnt like things like that. I'm still so saddened by whats happened to her but I have done what I can and I know if she ever needs a talk im only a phone call away and she knows this so I can still be there for her if she needs me to be.

I've had a close friend die before and I know a bit of what your friend might be going through. I can tell you that your friend might not call you immediately. It might take a few months before it all finishes sinking in for her, so make it a point to talk to her at least once a month. Phone would be best and when you do, just chat about normal stuff and try not to constantly express sympathy (one time at the first contact is good, but after that she really needs friends like you to treat her like you always have done, it helps the healing).
