F1 'needs Takuma Sato'

Says BAR's Richards

Takuma Sato

Formula One needs Takuma Sato, according to his team boss.

BAR chief David Richards backed the Japanese in the face of Rubens Barrichello's post-race criticism that an overtaking move was 'amateur' at the Nurburgring.

''I think it was a little ambitious,'' Richards admitted of the shunt.

''There have been occasions. Rubens has a very valid point, but our man is paid to race cars. I don't think anyone can say he didn't do that [on Sunday].''

Ferrari's Barrichello lashed out at Sato in the post-European GP news conference, also branding his late charge for second place 'completely sideways'.

''Luckily I heard the engine noise coming and I could steer away a bit.''

Richards, meanwhile, admitted that Jenson Button didn't have a 'perfect weekend'.

''When we analyse it,'' he said, ''I think we'll admit we under performed.''

what is barrichello smokiing? sideways?!?!!?!? what the hell is he tlaking about.

No sweat Takumo san. Always good to keep an argument balanced IMO.

Rubens over reacted with his silly "sideways" comment in response to Satos' over ambitious stuff up in the race. Maybe your Q should be....has Takumo been passing the dutch to Rubens.

yea DR is so very right. Sato is very fun to watchbeclike a new JPM but does not have as much talent. Sato move on sunday night was great because of a fwe reasions.

1. because it gave RB the s##ts

2. because we got to see how strong the BAR frount wing was.(how sharp was it. did you guys see the BAr guy in the pits jump back when Sato came in)

and 3. because that pitstop mabe his engine blow and well handing Mark Webber 1 more point.

If that was Villeneuve who tried that, DR would have berated the cr@p out of him. Sato's move was dumb, not brave, dumb. Apparently DR also claims Taku is the most feared driver in F1 BOLASM :lol: , DR hit's the heavy stuff again, because he makes one stupid move, and blames RB, naturally, when has an F1 driver admitted fault to a crash with another, he's a hero and feared, what a load of cr@p, nothing against Sato himself, just what DR claims. The most feared driver in F1 is Ralf, purely because everyone is scared they could be next on the "collision with Ralf" hitlist

hay come to think of it. what R$ has done is not that bad because now when he comes around the drivers are going to give him space because there to warryed that he will hit them. and well no one will pas him because of that as well.

Naaahh , Aloseone has been honing his "Snap pull hard right" steering efforts and will now most likely run Ralf the putss right off the track for sure.

(Installing that new lower button on the Dash marked: Ramming Speed is a big hint 8) )
