Gianmaria Bruni is in trouble

Says Minardi's Paul Stoddart

Bruni is fast, but has finished just three times

Paul Stoddart is not blown away with the efforts of Minardi's pacesetter Gianmaria Bruni, the Australian entrepreneur told the media on Wednesday.

He said 'there is a difference' between the team's drivers in '04.

"Zsolt [baumgartner]finishes races," Stoddart was quoted in Autosport. "If you never bring the car home you're never going to score."

Bruni, a young pay-driving Roman and rookie, is consistently faster than Hungarian Baumgartner on the tracks but the latter 'is a real worker.'

"[bruni's] car did not need to be switched off" after a first corner clash at Indianapolis, Paul Stoddart claims. "It was capable of continuing. If he had, he knows he could have taken that point."

Stoddart refused to reveal how serious the 'Bruni' issue is.

"We're going to discuss [it]," said Paul, "as it's not the first time it has happened."

thats interesting, i didn't understand why bruni stopped because he wasn't involved in the first corner incident......but just brushed it off as a engine problem of some sort.

he hit one of the Jordans that were slowing down and that damaged his susption( yea thats spelt wrong but you know what i mean). but the only reasion PS is saying that is Because he has hight hopes for Bruni and well Bruni brings less to the team than Zolt so he wonts he to have the better racers. but Bruni has done a hell of lot for minardi in the last two years and Minardi need him.

at Minardi i wont to see Brisco and Bruni in there unless Bruni gets a better drive then it can be Brisco and Monteiro. i know very little about monagny so i cant really rate him.

last year Minardi had good drivers but a s##t car. and this year thay have a good car but 1 s##t driver (zolt) and one good driver (bruni). but jos will never drive for minardi eaver again after all the bad things he said about them at the end of last year.

relly i never heard that one befour. but PS has said that Bruni has stoped in racers were he chould have finshed.

which explains the lack of motivation. Apparently Bruni was pi$$ed off that Zsolt scored the point instead of him, maybe this is the spur he needs.

:? why next year? oooohhh will thay get more money because thay scored a point. and about Bruni i just hope that Zolt geting the point and PS bening a little p**sed off at him makes him pull his a## in to gear and really show everyone how great he can drive.

this hole PS not benning happy with Bruni might just be a PR stunt to get Bruni some motivation.
