Ralf wants a Hungarian comeback

Tuesday July 13 2004

Ralf Schumacher has told Williams that there is no need to sign Nick Heidfeld to replace him for the rest of the season because he intends returning in time for the Hungarian GP.

Ralf has missed the last two races after suffering two spinal fractures in his US Grand Prix accident, and although the German was first expected to miss eight to twelve weeks of racing Ralf fully intends coming back sooner.

"Had my condition been good enough, I would have returned to the c##Kpit for Magny-Cours," said Ralf.

"I'm desperate to come back as soon as possible to successfully contest the remainder of the season for the Williams team."

BMW Motorsport Director Mario Theissen is also confident that we will see Ralf racing sooner rather than later.

"I have talked to Ralf and he was rather optimistic to be able to come back earlier than the doctors have advised," said Theissen. "Ralf believes to be able to be back in time for the Hungarian Grand Prix, but I'm not so sure if his doctors will allow him to do so."

I am seriously upset with Ralf "No podium" SCHum.

This guy is pushing his grace period ,he is very much hurt and to come back before a sound testing period has been achieved is asking for huge trouble.

I think he is postering to keep away the Team from putting in a decent driver.
