Davidson can

Recommended Posts

There's a couple of certainties about Formula One '05. Michael Schumacher will be quick, and Anthony Davidson won't race a Jordan or Minardi. "Beggars can't be choosers," BAR's 'Friday' test driver shrugged. "But at the end of the day we haven't got any money."

The precarious financial situations at both aforementioned privateer teams means they are increasingly unlikely to pay a salary to the driver at the controls. Collectively, F1's 'pay-drivers' account for millions of lesser teams' budgets.

24-year-old Davidson, without a sponsor to buy a seat at the back of the grid, is thus ironically 'limited' to looking at mid-grid teams like Peter Sauber's. "I would pay if I had a sponsor," said the Briton, "any day. But I don't, so I can't."

His race colleague at BAR, Jenson Button, acknowledges that diminutive 'Ant' would 'rather be racing' than testing tyres and developing Hondas at Brackley. "I - everyone [at BAR] - would be sorry to see him go," said AD's compatriot.

I know that at the end this is just bussines (as everything in this life  ) and i do understand that little teams need money to go on but it
