Self Deflating Tyre

Interesting, sensors signal to the ECU that the wheel has departed company with the chassis and the tyre deflates, avoiding it bouncing into another car or the crowd.

Initially, I was thinking what if the system fails and deflates the tyre when the wheel is still attached? That would be no different from an ordinary puncture, though.

Or the possiblity of the rim itself escaping the tyre making then two large projectiles instead of one.
