Williams Refuse To Comment Over Bmw Decision

Recommended Posts

Williams are refusing to comment on Wednesday's announcement from their engine partner BMW regarding the purchasing of the Sauber team.

BMW confirmed during a Munich press conference that they'd purchased a majority stake in Sauber and that as of the 2006 season the team would run under both BMW management and the German company's name.

Williams, though, have been offered the use of BMW's engines for next year to ease the transition but whether or not the team, whose partnership with BMW was supposed to run until 2009, will take the offer remains to be seen.

Williams are - at least for now - refusing to comment on the announcement.

"There is absolutely no comment on this and that might be the case for some time," a spokesman told The Guardian.

Williams is a very professional outfit and Sir Frank is a very polite and dutiful man.
