What track are they going to use for the other German race, at Hockenheim.  Because the reports when the changes were first made public said 2002.  Then I heard somewhere that they were running behind so they would use the changes in 2003.  And I heard rumors both ways since then.  I assume it is known by now which one will be used, do you know Jens?

And the two tracks you mentioned are as close as he will get to a home GP.

Did you know that until Monza last year New Zealand and Finland were the only countries to provide a race winner but no (championship) F1 race ever.  Now Montoya has added Colombia to that list.  They are still the only countries to get WDC and have no race, but Montoya will probably add Colombia to that list also.

New track at Hockenheim. I was going to go but decided to save the money. Finland had plans to put together a world class track on the level of Sepang in 1999 I believe, but plans were delayed and seemed to just disappear. I think they'll have a race sometime though, there's a temporary street circuit (Monaco style) put together in Helsinki every year for a car and Finnish FFord race each year. F3 too I think.

I wasn't sure, and what made it even harder was that some F1 sites showed the new layout and some the old.  I personally think that from a visual point of view it is the uglyest track on the calender.  I found this quite an unusual thought to have as I have never really thought about tracks in this manner before.

I like the old track, simply because it is th only remaining speed track. Sure Indy has the long straight but tight infield. The new Hockenheim seems nice, but the two similar circles that go into the stadium are boring.

The chicanes may have damaged it but Monza is still quite a fast track, the fastest average speed on the calender for years in fact.

Monza is fast and has the long straights, but it doesn't have the same Hockenheim feel to it due to the chicane's that Monza has as you said. I think F1 needs another fast track, revise Indy's infield and that would be great. There should also be another street race or two like Monaco.

I absolutely agree about another fast track.  But we don't (IMO) need another Monaco, Monaco has a few things that make it so popular and one of the important ones is the uniqueness of the track confines.  Having another street circuit would take some of the mistique away.

YES people, Raikkonnen has crossed the finish line, with 4 points to boot

He was also held up by the fact the refueler didn't deliver enough fuel so he had to peg it back to aid consumption and last to the finish.  This was proven by the fact he set his fastest lap on the final lap, when he knew he had enough to last to the finish.  So he my have come 2nd but for that problem but probably 3rd.

Not a good race for Intertechnique was it.

Third likely, but second was just as possible. Coulthard came out of the pits about a yard ahead of Raikkonen, you could see Kimi let off as he saw David come out to avoid a crash. He could have been aggressive and taken the position, but the problem wouldn't have made any use of it. Shame though, I think he could have had a good battle with David and taken 2nd. Three points from fourth though is better than another retirement.

A lot better in the circumstances, 7 no pointers out of 8 starts would be had to handle driving a McLaren.

well even with all the computer stuff controlling everything a driver can still stuff up.... check out Villeneve how many races has HE finished this year.. maybe Kimi is just trying that bit too hard to impress after all he is not the most experienced driver in the limelight

Yeah true, but he has had a number of mechanical problems accounting for some of his retirements.
