Friesacher Seeks Test Driver Role

Friesacher seeks test driver role

(planetf1)

Patrick Friesacher's forced sabbatical won't last more than a few weeks if the ousted Minardi driver has his way as he's already targeted a test role with Jordan.

Friesacher found himself without a job on Tuesday when Minardi announced they'd be replacing him with Jordan test driver Robert Doornbos for the rest of the season after Friesacher ran out of money to pay for his drive.

However, the Austrian isn't bitter about the team's decision.

"Sure, I'm really sorry about what happened but I do understand Minardi's situation," he told his website.

"I would like to thank the team for all the support. I really felt good with the team and gained some friendships."

And Friesacher doesn't plan on being away from his new friends for very long as already he's making plans to land a test driver role - at least until the end of the season. And ironically the team he could most likely test for is Jordan as Doornbos's replacement.

"Within the next few days my manager Thomas Frank and I will go through the further course of action," he said.

"For the next step we look forward to getting a Formula One c##kpit for the testing season."

"(And) in addition, we work on a 2006 F1 package."

Thanks for that bit of news Senna, I hope that he does get that testing job, it's a shame the way he ran out of money like that. Perhaps he can redeem himself at Jordan?

Minardi should keep him because they can expect a driver who drives for them to do good in their first F1 season and with the team they are with can not beat the better teams

They probably should, but the can't, atleast according to Stoddy. He hasn't got enough money, hense they can't have him driving for them as it will cost the team too much money.

they got heaps of money for indy, but stoddy unfortunately gave it to charity, otherwise he would have loved to help a struggiling driver for the good of the sport. but he already gaev it for the alleviation of poverty in africa. such a fat er.. great man. sniff. always speaks his behind er.. mind.

Lol, nice one.

Yes, that's very true, although Webber and Alonso have done well from being at Minardi.
