TotalF1 Jens

Arrows bought!

Recommended Posts

Thats a cool idea. Pity that its probably the smaller teams that can least afford to run a 3rd car though.

As for Arrows - I agree that thats them done for. They've played around long enough now & I think its time the FIA took some seriuos action against them. At the moment they're just making a farce out of F1.

I agree daz, I wanted Arrows back, but now I don't. Just drop 2002 and leave it alone guys, If you really want to come back to F1 concentrate on the car (and the raising money for new team entry fee) for 2003.

Even Phoenix gave up (at lest in the public eye) eventually. Jens do you know if they are still interested in entering in 2003. Asiatech are aiming for 2004, are they want to buy their way in or enter as a new team.

To be honest Phoenix just suddenly went mute. I haven't heard a thing about them since I think the Austrian GP when they were bidding for 2003. Asiatech I think is looking at a whole new team, but may be there to take over Arrows if they go under.

There is certainly a bit of interest in the grid slots of Arrows and Prost, the RedBull all American team, Carl whatzit, Asiatech, and (maybe) still Phoenix. So those four could pair up and create 2 new teams.

26 is historically the maximum but after the Lola affair the FIA planned to (and I assume did) pass a 12 team limit. So 26 cars would only be allowed if there were more than 2 cars in some teams.

At least they didn't hang around saying we will improved just give us a chance. Very similar idea to what Arrows will be saying if they try to turn up again this year.

The biggest sponsorship coup was Mastercard so Eddie (Mr Shrewd) Jordan approached and signed them as soon as Lola F1 campaign collapsed.

Thats true, I remember Mastercard had some ad campaigns with the car and slogan something like "Fastest to the Future" or something. Doesnt really seem that way.. :D

Ironic isnt it? :D Mastercard could really do with an F1 ad campaign with a team like Minardi: Chassis $500,000, driver pay $3,000,000, engines $8,000,000, qualifying within 107% - priceless.

:D :D :D

I haven't actually seen them just heard about them, even though we do get L'oreal in NZ. The Walker/Hill Pizza Hutt ones were shown though. Some of the MS Fiat ones have been shown as a 'special' on the F1 coverage program also, as well as one or two of the MH/DC ones.

The Fiat commercial with Schumi in the crowded streets is a good one, I love it when the guy looks out of his car window to see Schumi in the F399 to his left :D

Another good one which advertised the British GP had Schumacher taking a drivers test and passed it with full score, and as he steps out of the car he opens the door right into the path of a bicyclist and fails. Solution? Drive a car with no doors! It was great

Very good I haven't seen those ones but there is one where MS pulls up to a petrol station in his F1 car, looks around no 22+ man service team so he gets out and fills up himself. as he is doing so a Fiat pulls up and 22 pit members run out of the building to attend to the Fiat.
