True, and the car she was driving was the spare. If she had wrecked it then Kimi would not have had a car to start the qualifying session off with.

Then DC and Kimi would have had to share a car, that may have pushed both of them out of the top 10 in Qualifing.

Very true, but didnt really matter at the end for Kimi thanks to the crap reliability of the Mercedes.

It feels like he has suffered an 'engine' in every race. That can't be true as he has scored points, but it feels like it.

It does, his points finishes have come whenever the engine holds together, he would be ahead of Coulthard in the points without all the problems for sure.

He has usually been running ahead of DC at the time of failure, USGP one of the exceptions.

Yep, and deserved the win at Magny-Cours but didnt get it. I think when his car holds up and is fast he will win races, I dont see that happening sadly until next season, Suzuka seems to be a track where Ferrari is going to dominate.

I just counted it up, Kimi has only finished a mere FIVE races this season, all ELEVEN retirements have been mechanical problems. When he has finished it has never been less than a fourth.

Fourth in Hungary and Canada, third in Australia and Nurburgring, and second in France (I think of it as a win but whatever).

That doesn't suprise me, he has appeard to be driving well this season and those numbers prove that.

Somehow Ive learned to expect a mechanical failure from Kimi's car, at the start of a race I can sort of tell he wont finish it.

I think it is even more than the number of times Hakkinen retired last year, not sure though..

Hakkinen scored in 9 races last year, so yes Raikkonen has retired more.

Was it really nine races? Seemed like so much more, but Kimi has so far retired out of 11 so I guess its so.

He scored points in nine, finished ninth in one and had a technical retirement in the other 7. No accidents, spins or DQ's.

It can make a lot of difference, even the right car in the same team. Imagine how many points KR would have if he had DC's car.

I think he would have gotten points out of all the races he would have finished, which is quite a few times more, and would be challenging the Williams at least.
