TotalF1 Jens

Arrows to be bought by Audi?

Recommended Posts

I think that even at the current point F1 would die off should the manufacturer's break away. But I think the more manufacturer's that enter F1, the more the FIA will realize that they need to be kept happy to prevent anything like the GPWC from being created.

The banks that own the share of F1 that used to belong to Kirch are believed to want to extend the Concord agreement, in order to put some stability back in the administrative side of F1. This can only happen with unanmous agreement from all the concord signatries. And some of them will say no unless some (all) of their issues are resolved. I hope this happens this would almost certainly prevent the GPWC and ensure the future of Formula 1.

You're right that no one will sign unless all demands are met, so there is really only one option for Mosley. Give in. Its as simple as that, he doesn't have the power to keep the manufacturers in F1 after 2007.

It is not just Mosely, it is Ecclestone and 4 reps from the 3 banks as well, but agreed they should give in, they will get what they want then. Admitedly, less though.

i dont think any of the single manufacutures have that kind of money to form their own league...and actually race worldwide on 16-17 different tracks....and witht he current business market they should just advertise with F1 not try to make their own league...it would be the limit of stupidity!!! :D

who would waste money to get their own league...????? ferrari was threatening but that was all fake...they wont do that because of then they would have to face marketing deficits......... :D

Actually, when you put together five of the worlds largest car manufacturers you have a lot of money on your hands, a lot. And creating your own championship isnt costly, especially if you are the one with the cars. The problem is getting up and running, signing race contracts, licensing contracts and so forth. Its a big thing to do, but if they arent getting what they want, then let them go for it.

I personally dont see it happening though, the FIA wont be so stubborn as to let F1 die.

It is unlikely Rohan, I agree. Due to the reason Jens mentioned, the FIA won't let F1 die. Sorting out the disputes and continuing with F1 is the best result for everyone concerned, so I feel that issues will be sort to allow this to happen.

well people have to argue....it doesnt matter how much they have in common...so i am not concerne of teams leaving..because of a dispute....like HP sponsors Mercedes Mclaren and BMW Williams....and if either of the teams left..HP would lose out..so its not a single man decision as Luca mentioned earlier...... :D

Well without arguments there would be no problems, or no progress! I guess it is mostly a financial thing in most ways, that Bernie doesnt want to give up too much power and money. I think in the end he will have to give in, but hope he doesnt get too anal about not giving in to the teams.

That is true. In most of the past situations a win-win is still possible even with him being an arse, this does not appear to be true this time.
