Due to structural abnormalities, The '04 McLaren probably won't be released untill oct '07. Nah just kididng, but I thought how they handled it all last year was hilarious.

Are you sure mclaren have launched?

I haven't heard or seen a thing about it. I saw Williams and Sauber but no Mclaren.

Same here. If they did launch it must have been so low key that no F1 sites bothered to mention it either! :D

Mclaren did launch, on the test track at Valencia in November. They did what some teams like Sauber should do - save money and just throw the car on track and let the press look at it while it starts its testing programme. That is to say, they had no official launch ceremony, they had their 2004 car ready and simply started testing it. No big deal.

Then we have Sauber's launch... what a damned waste. They even had a show put on by Sugababes, in all honesty I've got to say.. what the toff?

From the sponsors point of view I can see why a lavish launch is a good thing.

It gets their brand on computer and TV screens around the world. I saw bits of the Williams and Sauber on the news and on every web site, but I saw nothing when McLaren launched.

I agree on that point, but for example what Williams did is all right and fully conventional, but Sauber always go over the top. Way too much over the top in my opinion for a simple launch.

 McLaren has already confirmed that they will not have a launch for their new 2004 car. They say that the car has already been tested in ov 2003 therefore there is no need.

I do agree, because what is the point of launching a car that everyone has seen, but why not launch the car back in Nov 2003?
