Senna 0 Report post Posted February 16, 2004 I’ve heard that there is a new EA F1 Career Challenge game in development. Does anyone have any information on the console version? I would really like to know what seasons it follows and if they’ve sorted out those graphics – the xbox version looked really bad and worse than there previous games for the console! webber 0 Report post Posted February 17, 2004 there are some things that EA needs 2 do to make there F1 games better thay r: 1. more set up options 2. make the car eayser 2 drive 3. make the CUP harder 4. have more game modes and 5. have more realistic cars
Sato 0 Report post Posted February 17, 2004 EA have no idea how to make games that aren't NFL or Soccer, really.
Senna 0 Report post Posted February 17, 2004 I’d like to see the game based from (if they stick to their four year time span) 95-99. This would mean we would have the old style cars on slicks and then in 98 they would have different car regulations and groove tyres. Further more we would get more drivers (Mansell, Berger etc who had retired before the last game started) and different tracks (Adelaide, Jerez, Estoril etc). Improvements I’d make to career challenge: 1. Better story mode – I’d like to negotiate deals with team owners & receive wages, interact with the grid, release statements to the press, etc and not just see a PDA with a line of script. 2. More control over set-up. F1 WGP on the N64 showed a performance graph next to the set-up options and showed what effect a change would have on grip, straight-line speed, acceleration etc. Set-up really changed the performance and handling of the car, yet EA’s options don’t change the feel of the car much. Why can’t EA do this? 3. Better Graphics – F1 2002 on the Xbox is stunning – Career challenge was shocking. 4. A track creator. Timesplitters has a 3D death-match map creator, why can’t EA create an F1 track creator. You could choose from say 20 pieces of track (which are just from the existing circuits) and then assemble them to create unique tracks that could be saved to the Xbox hardrive

Senna 0 Report post Posted March 17, 2004 Does anyone know when the new F1 games – F1 2004 on the PS2 and F1 Career Challenge – are due out in the shops?

Senna 0 Report post Posted March 19, 2004 That’s a shame if it’s true. Now there’s only going to be one F1 game released in 2004
juany 0 Report post Posted March 20, 2004 I was under the impression that Sony had an exclusive console license only and that the PC license was still open to all who pay for it
Sato 0 Report post Posted March 20, 2004 just get grand prix 4 and update it to the 2004 stuff...its quite easy. just a few downloads and its all set.
Senna 0 Report post Posted March 20, 2004 I’m a console gamer myself so I don't play the PC F1 games….Like Juany says, I think Sony has an agreement for the official F1 licence but surely EA can still keep making F1 games, after all they made Career Challenge whilst SCEE/SONY owned the official licence…perhaps EA just can’t make a game of the current season? Sato 0 Report post Posted March 21, 2004 EA had the licence from 99 - 02...thats why they did those years.... evne though EA's first game was not until 2000 they were trying to make it for 99...but were way too late.
Senna 0 Report post Posted March 23, 2004 But Sony (through Studio Liverpool) was still making their games during that period. F1 Racing championship came out in 99 too. Does this mean Sony have an exclusive license now? Anyway, I haven’t seen any screenshots of the new Sony game, has it even been formally announced yet? AutoRacer5 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2004 I'd have to add the ability to create and manage your own team and hiring your own second driver and making a paintscheme. I would also make it so that you would sign sponsors like Nascar Thunder 22004 and the more money you earn, the more car upgrades you can get.
webber 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2004 yea that whould be SOOOOOOOO KOOL. you chould be an owner driver like mark skafe here in Australia

I would also make it so that you would sign sponsors like Nascar Thunder 22004 and the more money you earn, the more car upgrades you can get. I really like the create-your-own livery idea. If you had a list of sponsors logos to select from and the ability to colour your own car it would be great. However, you couldn’t do that with a current team so you’d have to have a create-your-own team feature, like in F1 manager games. So much could be done to improve EA F1 games…
AutoRacer5 0 Report post Posted April 17, 2004 What I'm saying is to make the shop like the one in the Star Wars Episode One Podracing game (had to scratch your heads to see how far back that one went) and everything else like Nascar Thunder 2004 in terms of team management.
