Third went to Matt Carter, who is driving the 46 Tri-State Motorsports entry that Frank Kimmel drove to 9 titles, while fourth was RCR development driver Alex Yontz. Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. was seventh in his debut with Roush Fenway Racing. Dario Franchitti, the 2007 IRL champion and Indianapolis 500 winner, was 10th for Chip Ganassi. Michael Annett, who won the ARCA race at Talladega, was 17th for Bill Davis. Kyle Krisiloff returned to ARCA action in a 5K, perhaps with Gerhart's team, and set the 24th fastest lap, followed by former Busch Series champion David Green's Toyota. Canada's Andrew Ranger, formerly of Champ Car fame and fresh of a NASCAR Canadian Tire Series championship, but his 72 Chevrolet in 27th. 35th went to Frank Kimmel, driving a 44 Dodge for a team owned by himself and his brother in a partnership with Cunningham Motorsports. Chase Austin, a Rusty Wallace Inc development driver, was 37th. A surprise visiter came in with the 38th best time as A1GP Pakistan's Nur Ali drove the 45 Dodge at Daytona. Ex-F1 driver Scott Speed was 41st. Overall, 64 cars took times around the 2.5-mile oval.
